Who are you guys, anyway?

BestEver.com is the Internet address of ProSe Associates, Inc. (PAI). The Web Site's mission is to help consumers identify the best companies providing goods and services in the United States and the world. PAI was founded in 1991 to provide consumers with books, software, and other materials designed to help them make good purchasing decisions, avoid typical consumer problems, and find solutions for problems when they did occur.

What methods do you use to identify these companies?

We use a variety of methods to determine the companies we list on BestEver.com. These include consumer surveys, product tests we conduct, and information we gather from professionals and personnel involved in the specific industry being reviewed. For example, we obtain some information about cruise lines and airlines from travel industry professionals, such as travel writers, travel agents, and tour operators, as well as the information we get from travelers who have actually taken a cruise or flown on an airline.

I disagree with your selection of a business listed on BestEver.com. My own experience with it was terrible. How can you justify listing it on your Web Site?

While we make every effort to list only the very best businesses, we've discovered that no business is flawless. We base our listings on a number of criteria, one of which is a company's record of customer service and resolving complaints. Companies listed on BestEver.com are reviewed regularly, and those that don't continue to meet our standards are deleted from our listings.

Do companies pay to be listed on BestEver.com?

No. However, we do allowed listed businesses to license the BestEver.com name and its findings for use in their own marketing and advertising materials. The income from this licensing programs allows us to maintain and expand our consumer information programs.

What criteria do you use to evaluate companies?

The exact methods we use are proprietary and vary from industry to industry. In general, however, we consider:

	Quality of product or service;
	Quality of repair and maintenance programs;
	Customer service and loyalty programs;
	Quality of advertising and advertising claims;
	Price, relative to others in the same industry, and
	Community involvement.

So while Company A and Company B both may produce a high quality product, Company A may not be selected if it fails to provide great customer service, makes advertising claims it can't support, or if its prices are significantly higher than Company B charges for a comparable product.

I have a problem with a company listed on BestEver.com. Can you help me resolve it?

Regrettably, at this time we don't have the resources to do so. We provide contact information about the businesses we list, and suggest that you contact the company directly about your problem.
